Record Cleanliness Operation Across Punjab on Eid-ul-Adha: Maryam Nawaz Announces Rs 10,000 Reward for Each Sanitary Worker

LAHORE – Under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, exemplary cleanliness arrangements were made across the province during the blessed days of Eid-ul-Adha, officials confirmed.

From early morning, road washing and the immediate disposal of animal waste continued with full diligence. Under the “Suthra Punjab” initiative, a record cleanliness operation was completed on Eid, in which over 184,000 sanitary workers performed 24-hour duties despite severe heat with temperatures reaching 45 to 50 degrees Celsius.

Over three days, more than 2.1 million kilograms of lime, 150,000 liters of phenyl, and 40,000 liters of rose water were used, while over 4,000 kilometers of major highways were washed. Effective waste management was ensured through 7,000 collection points. So far, over 360,000 tons of waste and animal offal have been collected — exceeding last year’s total record.

On the directive of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, in recognition of the outstanding performance of Suthra Punjab workers, a reward of Rs 10,000 for each worker has been announced.

On social media, “Suthra Punjab” trended at the top, and citizens thanked the Chief Minister for the excellent cleanliness arrangements.
